Compress images privately
Shrink JPEG, PNG and WebP images by quality or to a target size.
How it works
- 1
Add one or more images. They stay in your browser.
- 2
Pick JPG or WebP, then compress by quality or to a target size such as 100 KB.
- 3
For a target size, the tool finds the highest quality that fits, and only shrinks the image if it has to.
- 4
Download each compressed copy. Metadata, including location, is removed.
Questions
Choose Target size and set At most to 100 KB. The tool searches for the best quality that fits, and scales the image down only if even the lowest quality is too large.
WebP is usually 25–35% smaller at the same visual quality and works in all modern browsers. Choose JPG when a site or app only accepts JPG.
At 70–80% quality most photos look the same to the eye. Lower settings save more space with visible softening.
PNG is lossless, so the compressor saves them as JPG or WebP, which are far smaller. Transparent areas become white in JPG.
